Crisis Response Team
The core service in every TIP Chapter is the Crisis Response Team. The Crisis Response Team is a group of well-trained volunteers that are called by emergency personnel to provide support to emotionally traumatized people on a 24-hour 365-day a year basis. TIP responds to the emergency location within 20 minutes of the time called. Following a traumatic event, the people involved often feel helpless, confused and in emotional shock. They are confronted with a situation for which they are totally unprepared. Often there is no one available in the immediate aftermath of a tragedy to guide the victims through these difficult hours. The TIP Responder provides this necessary temporary support until the persons involved in the crisis are able to depend on family, friends, neighbors and others.

Senior Crisis Team
The Senior Crisis Team is a special team of TIP volunteers who provide immediate support to seniors in crisis. SCT provides immediate in home crisis intervention services designed to help seniors recover from unexpected crisis events. Also, SCT is called to assist disoriented or isolated seniors who are referred by concerned emergency responders.

Travel Care
Travelers Care is a volunteer program designed to support travelers who have been affected by crisis events. When a crisis strikes a traveler, volunteers from Travelers Care respond to help. Volunteers ensure that travelers are supported during a very difficult time in their lives.

TIP for Teens
TIP Teens allows those 16-21 years of age to be active responders in the Trauma Intervention Program. Using Teens in the local TIP Chapter directly benefits the Teens and will also enhance the capability of TIP to serve youth who have been traumatized.

TIP for Kids
Children do not receive the support they need immediately following tragic events. The reasons include: parents are unable to provide support because they are physically or emotionally injured; parents are taken into custody by law enforcement; children don’t express their need for assistance; and emergency responders are preoccupied with the emergency situation.

TIP National Emotional First Aid Course
This excellent 8-hour course is taught by a TIP National Trainer. This course is offered to emergency first responders, nurses, mental health professionals, chaplains, clergy, business professionals and the general public.

Critical Incident Response Team
TIP volunteers receive extra training regarding responding to a major crisis or traumatic event that disrupts large groups or communities. The group is prepared to respond quickly to offer immediate support.

Professional Mental Health Intervention
TIP will assist with resources and referrals and in the event that no immediate professional assistance is available, can help make connections to free or low cost temporary mental health services.

Client Resources/Biligual Servies
Helpful written materials and video tapes can be delivered to victims of a traumatic event on a 24-hour a day, 365-days a year basis. Bilingual and bicultural volunteers are available to respond when requested. TIP resource materials are available in English, Spanish, Korean, Japanese, Chinese and Vietnamese.
