About TIP of the Treasure Valley
The Trauma Intervention Program of the Treasure Valley was founded in 2015 as a partnership between TIP National and Treasure Valley elected officials, public safety officials, community leaders and community volunteers.
The purpose of TIP Treasure Valley is to provide immediate emotional and practical support to survivors of tragedy. Local residents are trained to be TIP Volunteers, and as TIP Volunteers they respond on a 24/7/365 day basis to requests for assistance from police officers, firefighters, paramedics, deputy coroners and hospital personnel.
Volunteers respond to support survivors of all types of tragedy including sudden deaths, suicides, auto accidents, drownings and sudden infant deaths. TIP Volunteers also support travelers when tragedy occurs in the Treasure Valley when they are far from home.
TIp Treasure Valley is a Chapter of Trauma Intervention Programs Inc (tipnational.org) which was founded in San Diego County in 1985. There are currently 15 regional chapters in the nation serving over 250 cities.
